Biography

Born in Hokkaido.

Joined JTB Corp. in 1990, engaging in sales, marketing, content development, web development, market expansion, and new business initiatives.

From 2006 to 2008, seconded to the local government as the Director of Tourism Strategy for Shiraoi Town.

In 2012, transferred to JTB Americas Group, JTB Hawaii, Inc., where he was involved in MICE, community relations, the Honolulu International Airport office, and the Honolulu Festival Foundation until 2021.

Returned to Japan in May 2021 and joined the Kutchan Tourism Association (DMO), where he has been working on developing a revenue-generating framework for the region and MICE content for the Niseko area. His efforts focus on post-pandemic marketing strategies, governance enhancement, reorganization of directorship in alignment with the DMO's master plan, the development of secondary transportation, and promoting residents' understanding of tourism.

He has introduced a paid system for hosting inspection visits from across the country and established a financial model for the DMO funded by accommodation tax revenues. Additionally, he has launched a digital signage advertising business as part of the DMO's digital transformation initiatives.

He is also working on improving staff working conditions and developing the "Niseko Model," a framework aimed at enhancing human resource capabilities.
